%X The present paper aims to present a spatial analysis of occurrence of landslides registered in the central area of the city of Salvador, between January 2009 and December 2013, using as support geoprocessing techniques such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Cartography. These techniques have being used with great success in several areas of this knowledge, as the management of areas which present risk to landslides. These technological tools of geoprocessing has served as support for decision making referred to spatial management, as by the complexes analysis, integrating various sources of data, as by the possibility of generating georeferenced database. The methodological procedures of this work are included in the following steps: i) survey and treatment of secondary data; ii) georeferencing of occurrences by GIS; iii) construction of cartograms; iv) analysis and interpretations. It was verified between the 52 neighborhoods studied that the two which concentrated the occurrences of landslides in 2009 are the same that still concentrated these accidents in 2013: Castelo Branco and São Marcos. Cartograms produced in GIS environment, such as the presented in this work, serve as subsides for decision making of management of the priority areas for the execution of preventive and/or mitigating actions.
